The existence of "manufacturer giving Like" in social media is somewhat dubious. But the factory is not just a figment and proven to exist.

One was revealed by a raid by police and soldiers in Thailand. Initially the police suspect the rental house located on the Cambodian border was used by a group of people to run a fake call center business for fraudulent practices.

As reported by KompasTekno from The Verge on Wednesday (14/06/2017), after being interrogated the suspects were later admitted that they were paid by a Chinese company to run a bot account at WeChat.

The bot accounts are used to produce "Like" and boost engagement related to various products sold online in China.

To run the operation, the three men were given a capital of 474 iPhone, which consists of 5S series, 5C, and 4S. In addition there are also 347,200 SIM cards owned by Thai telecommunications operators, 10 units of computers, and various other electronic equipment. All the goods were confiscated as evidence.

The three men get paid 150,000 baht or about Rp 58.7 million per month to run his job of producing fake engagement and Like at WeChat. They chose operational headquarters in Thailand because of the cheap telecommunication costs.
